Memcached in Shared Hosting
The Memcached content caching system is offered as an optional upgrade with each shared hosting plan that we offer and you can start using it the moment you order it, since the PHP extension that it requires in order to run correctly is pre-installed on our avant-garde cloud platform. You can order the upgrade from the Hepsia Control Panel, which is offered with each and every shared hosting package and a new Control Panel section where you can administer Memcached will show up. The upgrade is separated into two parts – the instances and the amount of memory, so as to give you more versatility. The first one shows the number of the sites which can use Memcached, whereas the second one, which is offered in increments of 16 MB, defines the maximum size of the content that the system can cache. A busy Internet site with a large-size database may require more memory to take an even greater advantage of the Memcached caching system, so if you need to upgrade this feature, you’ll be able to do it at any given point with a couple of mouse clicks.
Memcached in Semi-dedicated Servers
When you buy one of our semi-dedicated server plans, you will find Memcached as an optional feature in the Upgrades section of your Hepsia Control Panel, so if you wish to use it for any of the sites hosted in the account, you can activate it with just a couple of clicks of the mouse. The caching platform is perfect for any script-based software app such as WordPress, Joomla™, or even a custom-made one, and depending on your demands, you’ll be able to select two separate features – how many websites will use the Memcached platform, in other words – the number of instances; and how much information will be cached, i.e. the amount of memory that the platform will employ. The two features are not tied to each other, so if you own a busy Internet site with lots of data, you can get one instance and a larger amount of system memory. The Memcached caching platform will enhance the overall performance of your sites shortly after you enable it and both you and your website visitors will enjoy faster load times.
Memcached in VPS Servers
You will get Memcached with each of the VPS server packages offered by our company when you select Hepsia as your Control Panel and you will be able to activate the distributed memory object caching platform via the Control Panel section with the same name. The activation takes a few mouse clicks and you’ll distinguish the difference in the performance of your Internet sites almost instantly. The amount of system memory that Memcached can take advantage of to store content depends on the given Virtual Private Server hosting package that you have chosen, but at any rate it won’t be less than several hundred MB, which is quite enough even for several traffic-consuming websites. You can use the Memcached platform with websites powered by WordPress, Joomla™ or any other software application and lower the load on your Virtual Private Server, which will enable you to continue using the current plan instead of moving to a more powerful one, since you will simply not need it. Memcached is already being used by popular websites such as Wikipedia, Zynga and Reddit, which is a proof of its efficiency.
Memcached in Dedicated Servers
Memcached comes for free with all dedicated web hosting plans that we offer and the one and only requirement is that the dedicated server must be ordered with the Hepsia Control Panel. You can use the object caching system for any database-driven site, including those based on famous Internet apps – for instance, a WordPress weblog or a Joomla™-driven community site. Each server is tied to a certain amount of memory that the Memcached caching system can employ, but the minimum you’ll get is 3 GB, which is quite enough to boost the speed of very large websites enormously, since this very memory will be dedicated to storing the cached content. The system will begin storing information the moment it’s activated, so shortly after that, you’ll see the improved performance of your Internet sites and the lowered load on your dedicated server. Plenty of websites use the Memcached system to improve their efficiency, among them popular ones such as Wikipedia and Reddit.
